| History of Trinity Church
Trinity
Church of Roanoke had its origin with the meeting of five Christian families
in a house in Roanoke, VA in the early weeks of 1981. Those five families
called themselves Trinity Fellowship and subjected themselves to the oversight
of Grace Reformed Baptist Church of Mebane, North Carolina. Pastor Randy
Pizzino committed to provide the initial leadership and pastoral ministry
in June of that same year. The church was constituted in June of 1983 at
which time we adopted the 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith as a
declaration of our understanding of what the Bible teaches.
Our growth and progress as a church
have been slow and often halting; but growth and progress have been our
experience only because of God’s grace and faithfulness. We met for over
ten years in three different rented buildings and finished our own church
building in the fall of 1994.
Our primary ministries are the carrying
on of biblically-ordered worship on the Lord’s Day, corporate prayer in
all of our weekly prayer meetings, instruction in the scriptures, and evangelizing
the world both near to us and far away in other countries. We are blessed
to enjoy the fellowship of several liked-minded sister churches in Virginia,
the United States, and the world.
The following are some of the spiritual
realities and blessings toward which we are striving for the glory of God:
-
Doctrinal commitments that are warmly
evangelical and boldly reformed
-
Worship that is both reverent and celebratory
-
Pulpit ministry that is expository and
practical
-
Service that has an inward focus on
the needs of the church and an outward focus on the needs of the world.
